Whilst undertaking panchakarma for health and wellbeing at Ayushakti Ayurveda in Mumbai, India, Jacqui also studied with Soni School of Garba Dance in 2016 and 2018. Her teaching and choreography also draws upon her formal training in Western Classical ballet and Contemporary dance techniques supported with Tai Chi, Yoga, Feldenkrais, Skinner Release technique and Laban Movement Analysis. An ethnochoreologist and multidisciplinary artist in choreography and percussion, Jacqui draws her inspiration from nature and the environment, exploring the ecology of place and embodied experience. She is inspired by Indigenous World Dance cultures and their expression of connection to ancestral spirit and the land and how this connection fosters a sense of place. In 2017, Jacqueline received a Stepping Stones Scholarship for the Masters of Arts in Ethnochoreology at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Ireland (First Class Honors). Jacqui is a community arts practitioner, dancer, drummer and Director of Wild Moves International since 1991 and was lecturer in Dance Education at Deakin University, Melbourne between 1989 – 2016.
